Transportation Program

The Walnut Creek Recreation Transportation program serves seniors and adults with disabilities and health conditions. Use any of our service options to schedule rides to medical appointments, grocery stores, activities, and more. This program is made possible by a generous grant from TRANSPAC, the Transportation Partnership and Cooperation for Contra Costa County. All grant funds have been fully allocated and applications for the Transportation Program have been closed. Applications will reopen in summer 2026, please check our website periodically for updates.

Safety

All passengers must wear seat belts. If you don’t wear a seat belt, both you and the driver may receive a ticket from law enforcement. We recommend that passengers wear masks in the vehicle.

When waiting for your Lyft ride, please stay in a safe, well-lit area where you can be seen by the driver.

Financial Assistance

Transportation Scholarship applications are currently closed, as all resources have been fully allocated.  Scholarships for the Transportation Program will reopen in summer 2026.
