Project Timeline

This page was last updated on August 25, 2025.

Spring 2025 — Design phase complete

This phase of work will involve the creation of detailed design documents, such as landscape plans, floor plans, pool plans, building elevations, and finish selection.

Summer 2025 through 2027 — Anticipated construction phase

The existing Community Center will be demolished for the new combined facility to be built, while Clarke Swim Center is projected to remain open to the public throughout the construction period.

Mid-June through December 2025 — Lake and pond projects

  • The project includes increasing the size of the Nature Lake and decreasing the size of the concrete pond. Once the Nature Lake is expanded, the new shoreline will be revegetated with native shrubs and trees (see attachment).
  • The additional soil from the Lake expansion will be placed in the open field southwest of the expansion area (see attachment). Once the soil is installed, the area will be planted with native trees, and the exposed soil will be seeded with a native wildflower mix.
  •  In preparation for construction on the pond, the draining process will begin mid-July 2025 and take approximately two weeks.
  • Fencing has been erected around the Heather Farm pond. The closed area encompasses the entirety of the pond and a portion of the canal trail near the nature lake. The pond will be inaccessible to the public during the construction, meaning there is nowhere to fish at Heather Farm; fishing in the nature lake remains unpermitted.
  • The pond will be refilled with water during the fourth quarter (October-December 2025).

August 2025 —  Existing Community Center building closes

Demolition and construction will begin in early 2026. Stay tuned for more timeline updates!

General Construction Notes

Typical construction hours are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with weekend work authorized as necessary. Please be advised that some noise is anticipated in connection with the construction and barriers, such as fencing, will be used throughout the project for pedestrian safety.
