Celebrate Pride month with Arts + Rec
June is Pride Month! This June, show off your Pride throughout Walnut Creek with fun events honoring the LGBTQIA+ community and allies. 🏳️🌈 Some events include Pride Flag Raising, Pride Public Art Walking Tour, Drag Queen Bingo, and Pride Mixer. As well as events, all through June Arts + Rec is introducing a Community Pride Chain, an interactive installation celebrating the voices, stories, and Pride of our community.

On May 29, from 10:30 AM–12:00 PM come celebrate the excitement with Arts + Rec as we play bingo, win amazing prizes, and enjoy some delicious snacks. Learn more and register online. Age: 18+.

Adaptive Group Swim Lessons
Make a splash this season with our supportive, confidence-building swim program designed for swimmers with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Register for classes online.
Penguin (Ages 5–10): Perfect for beginners—focus on water comfort, safety, and foundational skills through fun, guided activities.
Sea Lion (Ages 6–12): For swimmers ready to build mobility and endurance while working toward more independent movement in the water.

Kicking off the Lesher Center’s annual Fiesta Cultural Festival on June 12 is the global phenomenon, Grammy® Award-winning Latin Big Band Pacific Mambo Orchestra

Fiesta Cultural is a series of vibrant events and performances at Walnut Creek's Lesher Center for the Arts. Activities will include a world-class Headliners performance on Friday evening and a free street fair surrounding the Lesher Center for the Arts in downtown Walnut Creek on Saturday with music and dance.
Aztec Stories in Modern Mexico: An Inocencio Jiménez Chino Retrospective Now through June 28
Jiménez Chino’s first-ever retrospective, this exhibition traces the artist’s evolution from early works on board to protest line drawings from the 1990s and newly completed narrative amate paintings that capture, with remarkable intimacy and detail, daily life in the Balsas River basin of Guerrero, Mexico.
