We’re excited to welcome our littlest artists for a fun-filled day of creativity!
Kids can dive into hands-on activities including bubble table, coloring, a slime sensory table, beading, painting, face painting, and more! This FREE family event is specially designed for our youngest learners (ages 0–5) and their families. This event will take place on the grass at Civic Park in Walnut Creek near Civic Park Preschool (1395 Civic Drive, Walnut Creek).

You Can Cook! Pizza Lunch

Join Specialized Recreation staff for a deliciously fun kitchen adventure! Get hands-on as we learn cooking basics and kitchen safety together. You’ll be part of the whole process: chopping and prepping ingredients, setting the table, and helping with cleanup. This class menu is packed with tasty fun: build your own pizza, toss a fresh salad, and create a sweet tiramisu mug cake to enjoy with friends!

Bowling & Pizza

Let’s get social! Please join us for a morning of bowling with friends and pizza for lunch. Wear something comfortable. No bowling shoes required. Meet at Civic Park Community Center; transportation will be provided to the bowling alley. Specialized Recreation Staff provide supervision and ensure that conversation is both lively and appropriate.

Specialized Recreation Day Camp
The City of Walnut Creek offers specialized summer camps for participants with developmental and intellectual disabilities ages 5 to 22. We've made a few changes for our 2026 summer camp season:
- We're excited to offer half-day camp options this year! Limited spots available for a 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. camp day.
- Swim lesson add-ons will not be available this year. To learn more about swim class options, visit the City's Aquatics webpage.

Inclusion Services are available for all camps offered through the City of Walnut Creek. Individuals of all abilities are encouraged to participate in the camp of their interest. To request an accommodation for a camp outside of our Specialized Recreation offerings, please submit an accommodation request form and identify the camp you're interested in.
